The Iowa caucus is an election held by which the people in Iowa, who get to sit down and talk to the presidential candidates, just to hear what their plan is for vie the title of president. It is a very local, personal interview-style pitch of what the prospects plan to bring to the table. There are no absenteeism votes, only these gatherings of the candidates, speaking to the people at the local places in town. Mrs. Cara Carleton Fiorina is one of our Republican prospects for the presidency in 2016. She hails from Austin, Texas and is married to Frank Fiorina. She does not have biological children but has two step-daughters from her current marriage. She has a B.A in Philosophy and Medieval History from Stanford University, a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Maryland and a Master’s of Science from the MIT Sloan School of Management. She became chief executive office for HP in July 1999, but was forced to resign due to issues with the Executive Members. She served as an adviser to Senator John McCain’s 2008 presidential campaign. She won the Republican nomination for State Senate for California but lost the general election.  In her running for 2016 title of President of the USA, she did not fair very well in the Iowa Caucus, gaining only 1.9% of the votes (according to USA Today). She also was cut from a very important debate in New Hampshire. Despite the low numbers, she states she will continue her journey. She currently serves as Chair of a non-profit organization, Good360. She has many different topics to be addressed, for example, the 2nd Amendment. She states of current government policy is trying to do away with it. She accuses the democratic party of “politicizing” tragedies that happen due to gun violence, stating that nothing they do will prevent that type of tragedy from happening. She also feels strongly about the way education is being handled in this country. She stated “In the last 40 years, the quality of education has deteriorated.” She also said the spending going on in the Department of Education has nothing to do with the quality of education. She also plans as president to address national spending and the deficit. She states the Zero Act will “required agencies to justify what their spending” and what that means for taxpayers.
